The PolySeSouvient group traveled to Ottawa on Monday to reiterate the urgency of adopting greater gun control. He denounces that Bill C-71, introduced at the beginning of the year, is still not in force.
On the eve of the 29th anniversary of the Polytechnique tragedy, the group fears that the gun lobby will put pressure on senators.
“Do not compromise and show members how to stand up when you are not afraid of the gun lobby,” Serge St-Arneault, a brother of a Polytechnique victim, told senators.
In addition, PolySeSouvient believes that this bill does not go far enough and that amendments are necessary.
