Third theft of handguns in a month in Quebec

For the third time in a month in the province, an outdoor trade was the scene of a major gun theft.

This time, the criminals struck late Tuesday night at Pronature, in Magog, Estrie. They entered the trade around 23h by forcing the back door of the building.

Once inside, they played bass on about fifteen handguns that were in a display.

The value of the stolen property is between $ 15,000 and $ 20,000.

An investigation was initiated by the Memphrémagog Police Board in an attempt to trace the perpetrator (s) of the crime.

This is the third similar flight to occur in Quebec since mid-October.

The authorities do not have the possibility that the three burglaries are the same individual or group of people.

It is unlikely that handguns will be sold to target enthusiasts. As the weapons must be registered, it would be too risky for the new owner.

All you will believe, that these weapons will be used to commit crimes.

The Pronature d’Alma business, in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, was inaugurated by thieves on the night of October 16th.

The suspects would have intruded inside through the roof. They did not need a few minutes to seize the thirty handguns and faint in the wild. The value of what was stolen is estimated at between $ 20,000 and $ 30,000.

The Lachance Chasse & Fishing store was targeted by a thief on King Street East in Sherbrooke.

The thugs managed to gain inside the trade by making a hole in the outside wall.

They needed to be only two minutes before the handgun display, before fleeing.

In total, nearly sixty flying guns have been stolen from the three outdoor shops in the last 30 days.

No arrests have yet been made against these crimes.
